Dennis Farina, who has a starring role on Law & Order, was arrested on May 11th, 2008 for trying to pass LAX security with a loaded .22 caliber pistol. Farina was taken to LAPD's Pacific Division. He was booked on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon, and bail was set for $25,000.00.
The actor is a past police officer who has created a 30 year Hollywood profession playing detectives on various television shows.
Farina told the arresting officers that he was on his way home to Chicago and claims he simply did not recall the gun was still in his suitcase and had never had intentions of taking the gun on the plane. When police found the weapon was unregistered, the charges were upgraded to a felony and bail was increased to 35,000.00.
Farina had a two-year role on Law and Order before leaving the show in 2006.
