Before funnyman Jimmy Fallon steps in as the new host of NBC's "Late Night" talk show, he'll have a chance to test his routines online.
Fallon, who has been named as Conan O'Brien's replacement when O'Brien relieves Jay Leno on the Tonight Show in 2009, will begin broadcasting on the web this fall.

Late Night producer and Saturday Night Live chief Lorne Michaels told reporters he hopes the unprecedented move will help Fallon "to work out as many of the rough spots in his presentation as possible in performances on a website."
Scheduled to air this fall, "webisodes" are expected to run about five to 10 minutes long each, and his web show will likely air on a nightly basis to establish a regular rhythm for Fallon and new viewers.
Studio-backed and supported web based content and video is nothing new - Heroes, Lost and The Office with Steve Carell all experiment with promoting new characters and story ideas online - but it's the first time the web has been used as a medium for transition to the big time.
NBC's virtual testing room could prove a quick and easy way for getting instant feedback and attracting new viewers - not to mention providing Fallon fans a ton of bite-size laughs on demand.
In the meantime, Fallon is due to be seen this October in "The Year Of Getting To Know Us" co-starring alongside Sharon Stone and Lucy Liu.
The comedy tells the story of Christopher Rocket (Jimmy Fallon) who is a man devoted to his work but unable to commit to his girlfriend Anne (Lucy Liu) or anything else in his personal life. He returns to his hometown after his estranged father Tom Rocket (Tom Arnold) suffers a stroke. Jane Rocket (Sharon Stone), his mother, is a central figure in his dysfunctional past.

Zac Efron And Vanessa Hudgens Are Truly In Love - Both Back To Work After Vacation
After finishing up the filming of "High School Musical 3: Senior Year" last month, Disney teen couple Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens were able to jet off for a short vacation in the Turks & Caicos Islands. But since returning home, the two have been all business.
Last week, Vanessa was seen being whisked away to a studio in a limo where she was hard at work shooting the Intelligentsia Coffee brand's new ad campaign. Efron was seen in New York doing various press interviews and taking other "work related" meetings.
When Hudgens was asked how serious the couple's relationship was she got right to the point and said she is in love with her "High School Musical" co-star.
"Zac and I are more in love than ever. It's fun to work with him. He's really sweet, and singing all of songs is always a blast."
The actress dismissed the possibility of appearing in another "High School Musical" movie now that the cast members have reached college age.
"Not for us,' Hudgens told reporters. "We're pretty much done, I think."

When asked about all of her boyfriend's fan attention she insisted that she does not get jealous of Zac's female fans.
The actress, who has been dating her "High School Musical" co-star since August last year, revealed that she often joins in with his screaming supporters. Hudgens also admitted that she has received her fair share of attention since she first appeared as Gabriella Montez in the movies.
"It's all good with Zac. I don't get jealous - not at all - when Zac gets loads of attention," Vanessa explained. "I do, too. And I don't mind if girls scream at him - I like to scream along too."
Following a short trip out to the east coast, Efron has finished up his New York City press duties and has made his way back home to Los Angeles.
The actor was spotted arriving at LAX International Airport last week with his hands full of luggage and a skateboard. At one point, Efron exclaimed, "When did I get so popular?!" as he made his way through the terminal.
And waiting for Efron like a faithful and loving girlfriend was his sweetheart Vanessa Hudgens, who picked him up and whisked him away.

But with the latest "High School Musical" completed and scheduled for release in October, and the smash hit franchise behind them, what is the young couple in love to for spending money? Never fear.
Efron will be seen again next February in the comedy "Seventeen Again" with Michelle Trachtenberg and Matthew Perry. The film is about a guy whose life didn't quite turn out how he wanted it to and wishes he could go back to high school and change it. He wakes up one day and is seventeen again and gets the chance to rewrite his life.
After that, Efron will star with Claire Danes in the dramatic "Me And Orson Wells", about a teenager who is cast in the Mercury Theatre production of "Julius Caesar" directed by a young Orson Welles in 1937.
Vanessa Hudgens will reappear next year working with Lisa Kudrow in the musical comedy "Rock On", where a high school outcast's bond with a popular girl over their shared love of music results in them assembling a rock group that looks to win their school's upcoming battle of the bands competition.
Ah, to be young and in love in Hollywood!

Heath Ledger in Batman Dark Knight - Steals The Show…
Frightening scenes of Heath Ledger playing the Joker from the just released Batman movie, "The Dark Knight", have audiences on edge - nearly eight months after the actor was found dead in New York.
Related Story: Heath Ledger Found Dead - He Was 28
In one scene from the film, Ledger is dressed in a white nurse's uniform, waving a gun and wearing a surgical mask. In another, his face painted with the Joker's trademark evil grin in red, he points a gun directly at the camera.
These are just two of the many images film company Warner Bros is using to promote The Dark Knight, just released in Australia and the US on July 17.
From the movie's marketing material to the trailer, Ledger appears to be the main draw, with Christian Bale, who plays Batman, taking a back seat.
The film also stars Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Aaron Eckhart, Morgan Freeman and Christian Bale - playing the role of Batman.
Ledger had his work cut out for him by accepting the part of the Joker, which was made legendary by Jack Nicholson.
Ledger was found dead in his New York apartment on January 22 after an accidental overdose.

Sneak Peek: Christian Bale in "Terminator Salvation" - New Movie Trailer
How does one top a starring role in what may possibly be the hottest movie of 2008? Christian Bale knows how - star in the hottest movie of 2009 as well.
Bale, currently being seen in theaters as Batman in "The Dark Knight" working with Heath Ledger and Morgan Freeman, is currently filming the Terminator sequel "Terminator Salvation" as the now grown John Conner.
Due in February 2009, this is the fourth movie in the Warner Brother's "Terminator" franchise, and some feel it will be difficult to produce a movie with the staying power of the first three films. But with the success of "The Dark Knight" it is clear that audiences will flock to any project with Christian Bale attached.
With the first three Terminator films grossing well over a billion dollars you knew there had to be another. But one question remains unanswered - will Arnold Schwarzenegger make an appearance? No one knows for sure. He is absent in the new trailer, but we hear the door has been left open if Arnold wants a piece of the action.
"Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins" associate producer James Middleton, has revealed more details about the new movie.
"It's set after the events of 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines,' where we see the nuclear exchange at the end of the movie, and we show what the world is like after this event, and we show how people try to deal in a post-apocalyptic world," Middleton said.
"And we introduce a new character, who becomes very important to the resistance and to John Connor, a new hero. It's really about the birth of a new hero."
He added that John Connor will certainly be a central character in the film as well. "I would look at him as a character that is introduced and that will grow in the second and third movies of the trilogy," he said about the character.
Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Christian Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row.
Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

In June of 2009, Bale will star with Johnny Depp in the crime drama "Public Enemies", where the Feds try to take down notorious American gangsters John Dillinger, Baby Face Nelson and Pretty Boy Floyd during a booming crime wave in the 1930s.
In November of next year, Bale will star with Russell Crowe in the action flick "Nottingham", where a love triangle forms between the legendary hero Robin Hood, his Maid Marian and the archer's arch nemesis, the Sheriff of Nottingham.
And to top things off, Bale will also star in the action crime drama " Killing Pablo", the true story of how the Colombian gangster, Pablo Escobar, was assassinated and his Medellin cocaine cartel dismantled by US special forces and intelligence, the Colombian military, and a vigilante gang controlled by the Cali cartel.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" - Plot Update And New Movie Trailer
As the first wave of the summer blockbusters starts to dry up, everybody is setting their sites on the fall line-up. One film starting to get some buzz is director Scott Derrickson's "The Day The Earth Stood Still"
This update is a remake of the 1951 classic science fiction film about an alien visitor and his giant robot counterpart who visit Earth.
Starring Keanu Reeves as Klaatu, Jennifer Connelly as Helen, and John Cleese as Dr. Barnhardt, we notice one important departure from the original 1951 version - Where's Gort? None of the sources we have seen, including IMDB, have a cast member for the robot. What gives?
The giant robot did play a critical role in the plot of the original movie:
A flying saucer orbits the 1950s Earth and lands in Washington, DC on the Mall. The lone occupant steps out and is shot by a jumpy soldier. Gort, a large and very powerful robot appears to save him and is able to melt tanks with the slightest bit of his power.
The wounded alien orders Gort to stop his rampage and is taken to a hospital from which he escapes in order to learn more about this planet, even moving in as a boarder with an Earth family. When they begin to suspect him, he reveals himself, along with the news that Gort is a member of a race of super-robot enforcers invented to keep the peace of the galaxy that will destroy the Earth if provoked.
According to sources, the 2008 remake of "The Day The Earth Stood Still" will be done a bit differently:
"The Gort robot character has not been cast at this time and will most likely be created using FX. The remake will remain true to the original movie, however there is a chance it will more likely remain true to the short story upon which the 1951 movie is based."
In either case the alien 'weaponry' seems to have been upgraded. In addition to a city going dark, and a very brief look at the new Gort, the new film trailer shows a cloud of black smoke, capable of rapid movement and disintegrating matter on contact.
In the 1951 movie, Gort is described as one of a race of robots created by the planets to maintain peace throughout the galaxy. If the 2008 remake follows the short story by Harry Bates, "Farewell to the Master" upon which the 1951 movie is based, it will be revealed at the end of the movie by Gort himself that he is the master, and not Klaatu.

"The Day The Earth Stood Still" will be released December 12, 2008.
In addition to "Earth", Keanu Reeves can be seen in 2009 in the dramatic "The Private Lives of Pippa Lee", starring alongside Winona Ryder - a story about what happens after her much older husband forces a move to a suburban retirement community, and Pippa Lee engages in a period of reflection and finds herself heading toward a quiet nervous breakdown.
Jennifer Connelly will also be seen this December 26 in the animated fantasy adventure "9" starring Elijah Wood and John C. Reilly, about a post-apocalyptic nightmare in which all of humanity is threatened.

"Journey To The Center Of The Earth" Due July 11 - Watch Trailer
Movie maker Eric Brevig has confessed a myth about a key scene in his upcoming "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" movie remake - that it was shot using a cheap "slip-and-slide" in a parking lot.
Thanks to clever film making and technology, movie fans will see Brendan Fraser drop down a huge waterfall in the film, when in fact the scene was shot at night in a parking lot.
Brevig reveals, "We couldn't afford to build an actual waterfall set so, out of desperation, we had a slip-and-slide built outside in the parking lot at night.
"It's basically a 50-foot table covered in black plastic with fire hoses shooting down at it, and we're dragging the actors with ropes attached to them by their feet.
The remake of the classic "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" stars Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson and Anita Briem and will be released on July 11.
Fraser plays a science professor whose radical theories have completely tarnished his reputation. While backpacking across Iceland with his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson), the two explorers and their mountain guide find a cave that leads them deep down into the bowels of the planet.
They discover a fantastic and dangerous lost world in the center of the earth with bizarre landscapes filled with terrifying creatures.

First James Bond "Quantum of Solace" Movie Trailer Released - Watch It Here
James Bond will be back at it on November 7 2008, but aside from all of the on set accidents and problems plaguing the production we really don't know a lot about it - until today.
The first movie trailer for the new film "Quantum Of Solace" featuring British secret agent James Bond appeared online today.
Starring Daniel Craig as Agent 007, the secret agent thriller tells the story of James Bond seeking revenge for the death of his lover when he sets out to stop an environmentalist from taking control of a country's water supply.
The Producers say the film's title was taken from one of the short stories by Ian Fleming penned back in the 1960's. Producer Michael G. Wilson promised more action than "Casino Royal", which marked the debut of Daniel Craig's role as the British spy.
The film shoot began in November at British Pinewood studios and has had nothing but problems - but things again appear to be proceeding on schedule.

"Get Smart" Ready For June 20 Release - See Review - Watch Movie Trailer Here
Saving The World. And Loving It.
Mel Brooks believes that the movie update of his spy parody TV series "Get Smart" will appeal to modern audiences. Brooks described the film's leading man Steve Carell, taking over the role made famous by Don Adams in the '60s, as "brilliant".
Brooks said "To choose a guy who's right in the Don Adams groove, you couldn't get a better guy than Steve Carell. And yet he doesn't do Don Adams. He does none of his delivery. He just does Steve Carell." Brooks added that the spy comedy would appeal to contemporary audiences because it matches people's perceptions about intelligence agencies.
Plot:
Bungling secret agent Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell), also known as Agent 86 for CONTROL, is on a mission to battle the forces of their evil crime nemesis known as KAOS with his more-competent partner Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway), at his side. Bill Murray also has a role as Agent 13.
When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreams of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23.
Smart will do whatever it takes to thwart the latest plot for world domination by KAOS.
Written by Tom J. Astle and Matt Ember; Directed by Peter Segal. Release data: June 20, 2008. Rated PG-13 for some rude humor, action violence and language. Run time: 110 minutes.

Kiefer Sutherland To Star In Horror Movie "Mirrors" - Watch New Trailer
Just when you thought Jack Bauer didn't have time for any more problems, he has decided to go and make a new movie.
Kiefer Sutherland will star in the Alexandre Aja horror movie "Mirrors" due in theaters August 15. The story revolves around a mall security guard who becomes wrapped up in a mystery involving a particular department store's mirrors that seem to bring out the worst in people.
Then his wife and kids start having strange things happen with the "Mirrors" in their house, and there are a few very creepy scenes in the new trailer released this week. Especially the scene with the little boy sitting in front of the mirror talking to his reflection - but when he moves away his reflection stays. Spooky.
"Mirrors" may well rank right up there with "Strangers" as far as horror movies go, and we seem to be having a resurgence of good movie making stuck in between the action hero movies that have dominated this summers flicks.

Tom Cruise - Still Filming "Valkyrie" - Watch Movie Trailer
Tom Cruise is set to shoot more scenes for his World War II thriller "Valkyrie."
The actor will film three scenes in North Africa within the next few weeks, Variety boss Peter Bart reports on his blog.
Cruise plays German officer Col. Claus Von Stauffenberg in the movie, which revolves around an assassination attempt on Adolf Hitler.
The plot is indeed a complicated one; where at the height of WW2, a group of high-ranking German officers hatch a plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler, and seize power of the military command in order to end the war. The operation was codenamed "Valkyrie", for the emergency plan that was to be used in case of a revolt against the Nazi government.
The plan had been modified by the conspirators to ensure their success, but for various reasons the plot failed when finally carried out on 20 July 1944. The conspirators of the inner circle were shot after a kangaroo trial or sentenced to death soon after.
The release date for "Valkyrie" was recently pushed back to February 13, 2009.

Our only problem is that Tom Cruise does not even try to fake a German accent in the film. Seems a bit hard to picture him in Nazi Germany with his California accent.

"Brokeback Mountain" At The New York City Opera In 2013
The New York City Opera commissioned Charles Wuorinen to compose an opera based on "Brokeback Mountain," the 1997 short story by Annie Proulx that became the basis for the 2005 movie starring Heath Ledger and Jake Gyllenhaal - the film won three Academy Awards.
The opera is scheduled to open in the spring of 2013, City Opera said Sunday. It will be City Opera's second Wuorinen premiere, following "Haroun and the Sea of Stories," which was based on a Salman Rushdie novel and opened in October 2004.
"Ever since encountering Annie Proulx's unusual story I have wanted to make an opera on it, and it gives me great joy that Gerard Mortier and New York City Opera have given me the opportunity to do so," Wuorinen said in a statement.
"Brokeback Mountain" was released in 2005, set against the sweeping vistas of Alberta's Rocky Mountains. The film tells the story of two young gay men - a ranch-hand and a rodeo cowboy - who meet in the summer of 1963 and unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one whose complications, joys and tragedies provide a testament to the endurance and power of love.
Sadly, the movie was one of Heath Ledger's last films before dying of a drug overdose in January 2008.

Adam Sandler Finishing Up Movie "Bedtime Stories"
After working out for seven months to play commando Zohan, Adam Sandler is preparing to flex an entirely different set of muscles.
The "You Don't Mess With The Zohan" star is finishing work on "Bedtime Stories" - a special-effects-heavy family fantasy due this Christmas from Disney.
Sandler won't say too much about that production -- "We haven't finished it yet, " he said during a recent press conference - but both "Bedtime Stories" and the new Judd Apatow movie just announced, may indicate the 41-year-old Sandler is trying to expand his range beyond the safe zone of "Click" and "Big Daddy."
As he told journalists, "The best thing about producing is I get the studio to lend Rob Schneider money."
Directed by Adam Shankman, "Bedtime Stories" is a family comedy, and tells the story of a hotel handyman (Adam Sandler) whose life changes when the lavish bedtime stories he tells his niece and nephew start to magically come true. Surprisingly, no movie trailer has been released yet.
"Bedtime Stories" stars Guy Pearce, Russell Brand, Teresa Palmer, Richard Griffiths, Lucy Lawless, Courtney Cox, Adam Sandler and Keri Russell, and is scheduled for release on Christmas Day 2008.
